Tola Sylvan is a poet and translator. Her Pushcart-nominated work appears in journals such as Ploughshares, Poetry, and The Iowa Review, and has been supported by grants, scholarships, and fellowships from the McCormack Writing Center (formerly Tin House), Sundress Academy for the Arts, the Mellon Foundation, and Tupelo Press.

She holds an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was a Dean’s Distinguished Graduate Fellow. She is the incoming 2026-27 Kapnick Fellow at the University of Virginia.
